Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I check my email? All clients we host use the "Google Apps" software for email, docs, calendar and chat. To check your email, simply add "mail." to your domain like this example, "mail.andaleadvertising.com". That will allow you to log in and check your email through the web.
- What's the difference between Google Apps and Gmail?' Note that the terms "Google Apps email" and "Gmail" are used interchangeably. The only big difference is that Gmail users use the "gmail.com" domain, and Google Apps users have a custom domain like "MyLawnServices.com". All Andale clients use custom domains so when following instructions from Google that say something like "username@gmail.com" you would use the format "username@yourdomain.com".
- How do I use Mail programs like Outlook or mobile phones with Google Apps? Checking your email using POP or IMAP protocols is not too hard to set up. Google has already documented this very well for POP at this link and IMAP at this link. OUTLOOK 2003 users, the most popular group, can even watch this setup video
- Should I set up POP or IMAP for my own email clients? POP is an older protocol this is more simple to use. IMAP is newer and more useful if you use both a computer and mobile phone to check mail. In most cases, you should use the IMAP protocol.
